Gingerbread launcher

LAMSTER69

Lurker
Hey guys,

I am looking for a launcher for Gingerbread 2.3. But instead of getting that stock Nexus feel that you get from HOLO LAUNCHER, I want to get a stock S4 feel - android 4.2 Jelly bean. Does anyone have any ideas of what launcher I can use.

Thanks

Go Launcher Ex should still run in GB. Ace runs in GB.

Remember, when they were writing launchers for GB, there was no "S4 feel", because there was no S4 yet, so they're going to look like the "S2 feel".

Im not really a fan of go launcher but if you do check it out, theres themes you can download for it so search for a "s4" or "touchwiz" theme to get that samsung look

You can try smart launcher you can put any theme on including the s4 look like you want just download the smart launcher apps from the playstore and also get the smart launcher patch it provide your device with full function

I've heard a lot of bad things about Go Launcher. Excess permissions. Tough to remove. Hints of possible privacy violations.

I've never used Go Launcher, but I put Go weather widget on my phone briefly. Then I uninstalled it and started getting intermittent error messages on bootup "unfortunately the process Acore has stopped". Google tells me this Acore has something to do with Go, even after I've tried to remove all traces of aything Go from my phone. If they had a normal installation respecting the rules, it would be gone when you uninstall it. Very fishy.

Yeah the Go Team's apps have gradually got more and more spammy and bloated over the years mate.
I used to use Go Launcher and Go Sms but their business model seems pretty sleazy and there are far better alternatives

But will these themes slow down my phone, launchers I hear from a lot of reviews make your phone noticeably faster which is good, hence why I am looking for a 'touchwiz' launcher.

Go Launcher, in my opinion, is horribly slow.
If you want a fast launcher, check out Nova Launcher.
It even lets you "import" your current layout.
If you like it, buy the pro (prime) version ;)

Tbh i dont know why you think a "touchwiz" launcher is good. Touchwiz is Samsung's operating system and its well known for being slow, especially its launcher.
If you want speed and customisation, Nova wont disappoint

Remember though, the only things a launcher has control over is the home screens and app drawer so it cant speed up or customise any other apps

Funny thing is that there does not seem to be any option to select theme, the only thing that I can find is the icon theme pack which just give me some dumb background.
