Help Gingerbread LED problem

i had the same problem when I updated my Droid X yesterday. I tried rebooting and pulled the battery with no success. I just downloaded "LED me know," a free app, and all seems working now. I'd sure try this before restoring.

OK. I am now officially PO'd!

My LED is tango uniform.

I Really Do Not Want To have to load an app to get what should be on the phone!

I Also Do Not Want To Do A Factory Reset! I've done 2 batt pulls so far and still no LED.

I was totally stock and took the OTA.

MOTOROLA, WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR MAJOR MALFUNCTION? HOW THE HELL CAN YOU RELEASE A MAJOR UPGRADE WITHOUT A MAJOR FUNCTION OF THE DAMN PHONE EVEN WORKING?!

Bruce,

FWIW, I was one of the many with issues when Froyo was released. Based on the feedback I received, a factory reset was my only option. I'm quite glad that I did.

Is there some information that you are worried about losing that is keeping you from doing this? Like apps or contacts? If you are worried about putting your icons back, a few screen shots taken by your laptop could help you with the process.

Well, I think this issue for me was a combination of things. First I had conflicting information as to whether the Was even a charging LED (only when the phone is unpowered). I D/L Light Flow lite and did a few battery pulls and it does seem like I have the lights I'm supposed to.

I am however, still not seeing the same Wifi or 3G data signal strengths I had before.

I was using a 3rd party led app called Blink prior to the GB OTA. After the update no led notifications were working. So I uninstalled Blink and just went with the stock handcent notification and that started working.

I liked having notifications for stuff like missed calls and low battery so I installed the free version of lightflow and am using that for all the led notifications and it's working like a charm now.

I tried the factory reset and used the backup info to reset phone. It only works intermittently. I initially found it didn't work after GB update, then reset my accounts and it started working for a day, then stopped. Shouldn't have to download any apps to fix this. Wonder how long it will take for them to put out an update.

Handcent LED's work with screen off (just tested). THe main thing I loved was having the blue LED up when I had missed a text message. I turned reminders on but set the sound to silent. So now it will put the blue LED up even if the screen was turned on by the popup.

I too am having issues with GB and LED notification. went from bone stock Froyo to GB via OTA. have done many reboots, battery pulls and 3 full wipes. no luck. I dont use any sms program just the stocker that the DX has. Lightflow is the only thing that restores this and it doesnt work correctly all the time.

Also the hardware launch key illumination is jackered up. they stay on at max brightness in low light situations and there is not any way to adjust or disable this. its really annoying.

I called VZW about it and they told me to call Motorola.

So I registered a complaint with them about these issues.

I would suggest anyone who has had or are still having issues to please contact Moto. the more that do the sooner they will fix this. (hopefully)

I've been having led trouble, mine is specific, when I get a missed call the light no longer blinks. e-mail works, sms works, light flow - also misses the missed call light. sbf back to froyo, yah :) light works again, ok lets give this another shot, installed the 2 part rooted gb, ahh :( light doesn't work again. anyone care to chime in - maybe a setting I've missed:confused:

EDIT: light flow lite (free) - takes 30+ seconds to start blinking, but at least it's a solution! i was just too impatient for light flow - their staff however is friendly and prompt!

all my LED's seem to work now, except for missed calls/voicemail. Not sure if VM itself is an LED notification but seems a missed or ignored call is a must to get a VM? Anyways, doesn't work.
