Root Gingerbread = no signal no batt

For some reason I don't see a body on my post.

I was forced to upgrade to gingerbread because of their never ending update notice so I updated and I have it.

My signal is even worse than before and my battery os horrible now. Even on the extended battery.

should I sbf and give it another try?

Froyo was horrible for me too but I think better than this.

I randomly end up with my phone on the red eye screen
The keyboard prediction sucks
The colors of gingerbread are so tacky...

It is faster, but that's about all it does for me.
Sigh

You have some options.

If you're willing to SBF, I imagine you're willing to root. You could SBF back to FroYo, root, and delete the updater to keep you from updating.

You could SBF back to FroYo and apply the rooted upgrade to Gingerbread.

You could SBF to Gingerbread to give yourself a clean system if you don't care about root.

I plan to send the phone back any how
Too many problems, many the same as before. Got a new one that I really hate - my headphone jack doesn't work well, sound goes in and out plus others

I want froyo so im gonna sbf back to that- specially since im taking phone back to Verizon to see if they fix my headphone jack issue
If they give me the same phone back ill stay on froyo and root it.

If the gingerbread update fixes my issues I will sbf again and update to froyo

I keep reading that gingerbread can't be rooted...so I didn't understand the part about keeping rooted and updating to gb???

When I updated my phone I didn't uproot prior to doing it. So my phone says I have superuser but some apps that need root access don't work

Having the superuser app doesn't necessarily mean you have root. Since you took the OTA, you DO NOT have root. In order to have root on GB, you would need to SBF back to FroYo and flash the rooted GB.

Well, you'd have to sbf back to Froyo and flash a different file, but it would update your radio and you'd end up on the latest GB build... the one that's supposed fix more stuff. :D

Not saying you need to do it now, but it's something to watch over the next couple days and keep it in mind as a possible fix.
