Root Gingerbread ROM for EVO V 4G?

i wanted the same thing for a bit.

until I discovered Mobster rom (fully functional stock ICS with 4.1 features)

and SenseUI Launcher Pro

idk if this is the right link [App] LAUNCHER PRO SENSE UI - xda-developers

the download might not be on that link, just google Sense UI Launcher Pro

its a modified launcher pro home app that isnt just "themed" it actually WORKS like sense 3.0

thats about as close as you can get to 2.3 with sense. but with all the benefits of ICS and google Now (which i highly suggest you start using, its really great)

Yeah, Hi. I want a Gingerbread ROM for my EVO V 4G, with Sense 3.0
Are there any that exist?

Make sure your s-off, downgrade your h-boot to 1.04 and head over to xda developers and download mikrunny3vo for the Sprint Evo 3d. I ran it for like 5 min and was just totally annoyed at the lack of functionality gingerbread had compared to ics. But at least you can say you tried...

Edit: just checked the thread and it's sense 3.5 sorry

That's fine, How do I turn S-OFF on a Macintosh?

I really would like to hear your reasoning for wanting GB. I was stuck on GB with my Evo 4G flashed to Cricket (couldn't get MMS working on ICS or any AOSP rom so I never upgraded) and have been very pleased with ICS on the Evo V.

I can't really think of any advantage to downgrading to GB. Everything works much better in ICS. Are you under the impression that GB would be less of a resource hog or battery drain?

You're moving in the wrong direction. I think you want Jelly Bean. In which case you should download jmz's CM10 right away.

If you have S-Off and follow the HBOOT downgrade to 1.04, you can use the Evergreen CM7 Gingerbread ROM.

I would post the link to the ROM, but I can't because this is my first post, but here is the title and you can search it on Google to get right to it:

[ROM][D3rp] Evergreen CM7 [4/21/2012] [Kang]

I use this as my daily driver. However, SMS/MMS won't work on wifi (but if you use Google Voice, you're fine or if you only run 3g you're fine), no 3D, the camcorder does not work (but the regular camera works fine), and there is no 4G.

This big reason I like it is the battery life is amazing, I've tried the Virgin Mobile ROMs and some of the Sprint ROMs and they don't compare in battery life.

However, it doesn't have sense, so this post my not be too helpful now that I think about it for you, sorry. It may help others though who are looking for Gingerbread.

I personally wouldn't try it on an emulator like Parallels, you're sending low level hardware commands that might not work out to well on a VM. Just borrow a Windows box for the afternoon.

battery life on my Evo V with ICS is far better than my old Evo 4G was on GB with any rom and kernel combination I tried.
