Root Gingerbread shutdown animation on D1?

anyone seen a way to do this on the D1? I have the shutdown animation .png files, but not sure of where to place them - and IF we even can run a shutdown animation on a rooted D1 not even running a GB ROM?

I run the Droid X startup animation, so figured we could run the GB shutdown animation.
