As far as I know, you can always go backward. You just flash the stock ROM. Besides, if it's not the official one, you just drop by T-mo and have them flash it from their card. Flashing a rom is just flashing a rom. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Providing us with a link for the stock ROM would be nice. Because without the stock ROM, the OP has a point.

It's under the heading stock restore- posted by football. Haven't tried to go back but with the 2.3.4 I flashed, there hasn't been a need to. It seems stable so far. My Folder Organizer app has been working much better and the Genius Button hands-free is loading much faster now. I guess I'm taking one for the team, lol. My local T-mo doesn't have the update yet, but I'll bet you anything XDA will post a final official stock rom before many ever receive the OTA.
I have been on the phone with tmo for 4 days now trying to locate the file so I can provide it here. The official file not a modified one... I am actually on the phone with them now and they can't find a store that has the file.... I have now been on the phone with them for 40 minutes and counting.... Just trying to help us all out!!! I have heard nothing but great reviews about the new OS... So I would love to experience it too...

I actually went to a t-mobile store on the 6th. The guy had no clue what I was talking about when I asked about the sd card gingerbread update for the mytouch 4g. I've called both t-mobile stores and customer care about this and nothing!? No one has a freaking clue what I'm talking. Even though I told the guy at the store it was on t-mobile's website so who the hell knows! Going to keep trying til I get the ota update. Pretty frustrating! Oh by the way I live in wisconsin

Damn sorry to hear that man I called my Tmo store today and asked about the mytouch update and he told me to come in today to do it.... 
It works great pretty quick to.... now my question is this B4 we had a H on top now it says 4G that that mean we have 4G service or we still running on H ?

At this point, 4g for T-mo and AT&T is purely marketing. It's still HSPA+- which I guess is like 3.25 G
You see people going back and forth about it all day in the forums and on blogs. Still plenty fast to me.I thought it was only in California, but now I see it is not... Good luck buddy I know how you feel. I went thru the same thing as you can see in my post above...

Well since you have it why not post it up so we can all get it? All you have to do is, connect your phone to your cpu via usb, look on your SD card and find the file, copy it to your desktop in a folder or what not and share it via a file sharing or those of use who want it email mail it to us. It would be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance!!!!

Got my update the other day via sd card in retail store. Now running 2.3.4, also did master reset right away in case update had any bugs. The update is AMAZING! My phone is twice as fast now. And battery life is drastically improved! With juice defender, which all android phones should have imo. My phone easily lasts all day. With light usage, I still have about 55% battery at the end of work!!!! Love the update!!!!

I got the ota update tonight, still new to android so I can't comment much on improvements. Does the new keyboard lag like hell for anyone else though?
Well, first off it was hell trying to find it but as my last post stated I did locate it. If anyone in Southern California is looking for it the Lakewood Mall T-Mobile store has the update. I went into the store received the updated OS via SD card. The update took about 15 minutes instead of the 30 to 45 minutes they projected. So far I have nothing but good things to say.. Phone is faster, better reception, no dropped calls so far but when I leave from the wireless range on the router until it switches back to the cell phone network. Internet is way faster, battery drain has decreased to where I can last all day without looking for a plug, Some of the features like the highlights and accents are cool too. If my android would have ran like this from day one... I would have been the happiest person in the world. But, better late than never... I actually love the phone now.. It is standing up to the hype it once received from the gate...
Cons.. Some of my update programs I had to search and find them again which wasn't too bad. And whoever stated that they lost all of their apps was somewhat correct. But over all a huge improvement on the my touch 4G.

Did the sd update in Atlanta yesterday. update went as everyone stated. glad i backedup prior to update. overall update appears to be an improvement worth the time and trouble.

It's rolling out in waves- so who knows how it'll work out exactly. I heard you can try just typing in *#*#CHECKIN#*#* (Using the corresponding numbers). Don't know if that actually will help it along. If you can't wait, apparently the official version is up and verified at XDA (User Gr33nF0xjust copied it from the store. He's posted the G2, MT4G and MT3G Slide updates). See below for our beloved MT4G:

Well HALLELUJAH, I just did the Gingerbread (Official T-mobile) upgrade via the link that famished posted.
Worked like a charm. Yep, I lost all my downloaded apps... even all the ones I had moved to my SD card (thank God I didn't have many I purchased...)
I was a real fan of BetterKeyboard 8, but I may not need it with Gingerbread. We'll see. I wish there was a way to recover that (I purchased the unlocker for it). Market doesn't seem to have a clue what apps I had... maybe I need to login to Market or something there.
Upon initial setup of Android 2.3.4 my contacts auto-sync'd, and my email accts are active & sync'd.
Ladies & Gentlemen, I'm good to go. The phone feels pretty snappy in speed. We'll see about the battery life improving.

Update- there have been some tweaks and changes in some various bundled apps. GMAIL has been changed. Perhaps for the better. The UI is a tad different, I'll say more once I use it more.
One glaring negative that I found was: the clock feature that has the weather integrated into it has been changed.. WHY? It used to be you could assign different weather readouts for other areas you chose by clicking the moon or sun icon, and scroll through your choices. I had certain areas around the world I monitor the weather. You can't do that anymore. YOU CAN select "world clock" at the bottom to view different areas you choose and see their TIME ( i think there are 7 areas on default- Seattle, is one, London UK is another)... but you can't get or assign the weather on the clock for other areas besides your own. I've tried everything I can think of- no cigar.
Oh, one other thing- when Gingerbread was going-through its install procedure on my phone, there are what, between 7-9 different things that get overwritten, well one of them was "skipped", while the rest said "ok". I wonder what that was all about. Will say more after some more use.
Right now I'm not using any sort of Juice Defender or other management app. I want to see how well 2.3.4 manages battery consumption on its own.

Okay gang- tonight on a full charge I had 6.5+ hours, and still have over 61% of my battery. This was with just a bit of web surfing, email and text messaging.
No battery mgmt or apps management app... just Android 2.3.4

Update 2: the weather multi-feeds that they took away from "clock" is now integrated into "desk clock"... so all they did was move it. For what reason, I don't know, but it's still available.
For me, I'm not doing Netflix, so I can't tell you if GB supports it.
I'm really hoping somebody comes up with a way to root GB without going back to froyo... getting the urge to dump all this stinking bloatware.

Netflix works great. I re-installed from my back up and it was back up in no time.
