Help Gingerbread update? KE7?

Just updated my phone through Kies. Showed an update today.

I know KE7 is the latest firmware.

My build number says GINGERBREAD.EF04

instead of KE7. Is this the same thing? I tried to Google some information but found nothing. I currently living in South Korea. Is there a difference?

Baseband version:
M250L.EF04.1341.LT

If that helps..I'm just curious what firmware version I have.
 
Firmware is a mystery to me - my 'kernel' and gingerbread version on the phone says KE2, Kies is telling me the phone is on KE1 and that this is the latest version .....however i know KE7 is

can anyone explain this or advise how to get Kies to download KE7?

It's the same with me, I'm on the three network but it's not updating.
If I'm running through my WI-FI should I get the update?

I've come from a IPhone, once there was an update everyone got it.
 
From what I know, the main way to get KE7 update is by plugging your phone to your computer through the USB cable. Once you plug it in, you need to open Kies (the program) and it should say "firmware" updates available.

My problem is that I have updated my phone two times. I am located in South Korea and bought my phone two weeks ago. My phone doesn't say KE7 though while everyone else's phone seems too. Therefore, I'm not sure what version of firmware I actually have on my phone.

Dial *#1234# to find out.

Mine was the Polish version and I never got a message about KE7 in kies so I decided to flash the XEU (Euro) KE7 firmware on it using Odin. Works perfectly.

I'm in the USA, however I sourced my phone directly from Hong Kong. New is a sealed box, it came with .EF05

Baseband ver: M251L.EF05.1441.LT

I can assure you there is indeed a difference, unfortunately I do not have the changelog yet. The distributor is a personal friend of mine and he is working aggressively to see if he can provide it to me.

Once I have it I will post back.

I'm still confused if I have the latest firmware. I don't want to flash it because the phone itself works great right now. Any info?

I was on o2 too... o2 haven't rolled out the KE7 update, still! grrr, knew getting the first two quickly was too good to be true... trying to keep up with all of the other networks for the first two I guess.

I debranded my phone following this guide, changing the CSC code to a sim-free one... meaning I now get the updates as they are release by samsung, and don't have to wait. (I am also rooted - gutsy it seems - everyone around here seems worried about flashing! hehe :p)

KE7 improved my battery life, so i'm glad I did it :)

Once it's done, it's done, and it's easy and fairly risk free if you follow the instructions properly! :)

is there a website i can go to and read what each new firmware update brings? (fixes, features, etc) im coming from iOShit so im still new to this :(
