Gingerbread?

Anyone know if the G2 will get Gingerbread - whether official or unofficial? Will the hardware even support it?

According to the hardware requirement specs (atleast as of right now); NO the G2 does not meet minimum hardware requirements.

According to several articles, Gingerbread will require a 1ghz proc. or higher. The G2 has an 800mhz. SO unless something changes, or someone build a custom ROM to port over...

Android 3.0 Gingerbread details: 1280×760 resolution, 1Ghz minimum specs, mid-Oct. release Unwired View

that website is garbage. im serious.

to the OP

The HTC G2 will more than likely see 3.0. that minimum spec sheet from that website is pure speculation.

I'm very positive that the G2 will given it's Google's baby. It runs 800+ out of the box but you can overclock it to 1.4ghz and stable too. Mine's running at ~1.4ghz at the moment. Some have it running higher without a hitch.

I still have MS Vista, my point being that 7 offered little to entice me. If Gingerbread is going to be pushed to the phone, I guess I will use it. If it offers something I want enough, I will download it. But
getting it "to be one of the first" will not be a priority for me.
