Gingerbread Update for DROID X2 Owners Is Now Available from Verizon http://phandroid.com/?p=58622

Has it worked for you?

so where can we get it?

I'm surprised the devs haven't released it before verizon. Maybe the dev support isn't here for the X2...

Looks like it is only being pushed out to phones. If its for real I would imagine p3 will have it out soon. Does seem odd that it hasn't been out via the non official channels.

best news ever, but premature. I've already checked 3 times now.

Here's hoping for Droid3-like UI enhancements, better battery life, and a fix for the reboots and other small problems.

So when do these OTA updates start hitting? I am anxious now to see how everything will work with GB out now.

zakth from Droid Forums is reporting he is part of the soak test and the last email received from Moto was on 7/23 stating that they were not ready for release yet. Looks like this was maybe an early jump the gun on the page load @ VZW. The PDF document is there for the enhancements and another with OTA instructions.

Was hoping there was a radio upgrade as my reception here at home is horrible (1st time ever with the plethora of phones I have used).

Attaching the enhancement/feature list PDF.

Hm... I don't see anything about music, camera, or other media issues... but it's nice to see 'improved stability' whatever the hell that means.

They probably aren't going to go out of their way to point out performance issues with the phone. Bottom line is if RAM allocation is significantly better, media issues should be resolved.

Agree. I hope they fixed all the issues, but even if they did I would certainly not expect them to list "fixed all the crappy issues" as a bullet point improvement.

If they did indeed fix all or even most of them, I might finally buy this. I don't want a keyboard or a massive brick (6.5 oz and 0.5" thick = D3), and although the Bionic has caught my eye, I'm not convinced I want LGE if it's going to reduce my battery life to 5 hours

I agree about the Bionic. I have been wanting it since it was announced but experience with 4G on the Revolution and TB has been horrifying. I am hoping for the non publicized issue fixes as well.

Yeah, I am actually surprised to the see the reboot issue addressed on there, but then again, that was a major huge issue. I'm guessing we'll see memory allocation and media performance improvements with GB. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Of course, if it's anything like we Eris users went through with the upgrade from 1.5 to 2.1 awhile back, we're doomed!

Improved Stability meaning more stable most likely meaning no random reboots, audio issues, freezes, or whatever other issues people are having. It did seem kind of premature to release that it was available now, I would have thought the soak test would have taken longer then it did. Anyway I will keep checking for updates here and there and if I get anything I will let you all know first thing :)
