i hate to say it,but you ,may not want to use titanium backup at all. there have been issues with it and gingerbread(phone becoming laggy and glitchy,apps force closing left and right ). id only use it if you have an app that contains data that you absolutely cannot live without. youll prolly be happy in the long run of you just redownload them.

to put my apps back,i send them to my phone from the online android market. its considerably quicker than searching the market on your phone.

I use Titanium in GSB and it worked just fine. Just restore only user apps (do not restore system apps) and it'll be fine. When you restore, restore only the ones that are not green or red.

Ok, tought I missed something. I don't recall ever having problems with TB. When I reinstall apps (I only reinstall apps, never the red or green) I reinstall app+data. When I change to different rom's I'll restore Phandroid and XDA with app+data so I don't have to log back in.

IMO it's good to flash the new ver because it fixes problems in the previous ver. If u flash it like how it's been explained u won't loose anything and u won't have to reinstall stuff..

^this. i always flash updates for this reason. even if i dont see anything different,an update contains fixes that could be very minor or very major.

i have used it too,but pretty minimally. i follow the nightlies discussions here in the droid1 and incredible forums,and over on cyanogen and have seen several references to titanium backup not playing nice with gingerbread yet.

my advice wuold be to use titanium backup very minumally for now. i have pretty much stopped using it. whenever i have to re-set something up,i just go to the online market and zap em all to my phone from there

TB works fine for me, never a problem. I'm not familiar with the online market and moving apps back to my phone. I've only used the market on the phone.

if youre not having issues then all is well. who knows what lies beneath the surface for the people who are having issues... could be they have restored system apps,or who knows what else that is causing issue i havent any prollems either the few times ive used titanium with GB. on any of my 3 phones i think really you just want to avoid doing a batch restore that may inadvertantly restore something it shouldnt.

I'm loving GSB. I tried Tazz's Gingerbread, but my phone didn't like it. (I like the black/red/skull theme).

I've been running it ever since he got the camera and GPS working. Phone has never been snappier....

Just to ask the question, do you have "data enabled" checked in settings->wireless & networks->mobile networks?

Thanks doog, yes that was my issue. I didn't have it enabled, and when I did put it on I got MMS's with no problem.

OK. Made my nand backup. Copied my SD card to my computer and reformatted. Downloaded the zip for the ROM, gapps and cache-to-cache. Wiped data/factory reset and wiped dalvic cache. Flashing now. I feel like a kid at Christmas.

Just wanted to be sure that is what I have to do. When I switched from one Froyo ROM to another, my apps would synchronize automatically.

They did show up for me. Well, not so much in the market - I didn't even look - but they auto-installed after I logged in to my Google account at setup.

If that still doesn't happen, you can Nand restore what you had before, go into the market and install any old app - nothing special, just anything to establish a connection to the market - then try installing GSB again. A pain, but that should work.

I'm seeing them all in the online market. I'm sending what I want to my phone. It's always good to weed out old apps when you re-set the phone anyway. And since I'm connected to wifi, it is going really fast.
