Coming from CELB Froyo 4.3, do I need to re-format my SD or will a data+dalvik wipe be sufficient?
I decided to do a full reformat/wipe and start with a clean slate. Flashing GSB 1.6 now...
2) Why don't I have any room left on my internal memory already? I only downloaded like 3 apps and I'm out of room??
Well, I don't have much loaded on it yet but I'm impressed with how smooth and snappy it is so far.
Speaking of which, I flashed XTR's cache2cache app but I'm worried I might run out of space if I leave the installation location on automatic while installing all my apps.
Am I correct in understanding that, if I change installation location to External, I would get the most possible space for apps? (And do I need to check the "Allow application moving" box?
I tend to load up on them and eventually find my phone slowing down once I get down to less than about 30MB.
I did a nand backup and flashed 1.6 over 1.5 and seems to be working fine.
Edit: I tried flashing over without reflashing gapps but no go.Also I didn't do a wipe either.
See how that goes.

bobcat i had that same prollem. might as well have wiped if we have to flash gapps again and reset everything up![]()
Anyone know if the issue with the lockscreen answer dial showing up in the call screen got fixed? Saw someone else with the same issue but didn't see it addressed.
Do you still need Autokiller or is it smart enough to not need it anymore?
What do you recommend for CM performance tweaks?
- compcache I change to 18 MB (listed as the default, but the default was that it was turned off.)
Any opinions on which to go with, this or Tazz?
For the last two updates, as I noted above, I wiped Dalvik, flashed the new GSB, flashed gapps, then flashed xtrcache2cache and restarted. I did not have to reset anything up - everything was exactly as it was set up with the previous update. At some point some of the gapps will be ahead of what is in the gapps for gb zip, so you may be going into the market to reflash some of them again.
.
) and i havent flashed gapps since flashing that first one.
i havent used any sort of task killer or auto killer with any gingerbread roms on any of my various rooted phones. i put a shortcut to running services on my home screen and i check it now and then... there are consistently only a few things running. they remain smooth and while i cant say that it helps to not be constantly tapping a task killer, running without it certainly hasnt made my phone slower or use more battery.Do you still need Autokiller or is it smart enough to not need it anymore?
I wonder why Workshed disabled it. What does it do anyway? Does anyone have a good explanation?
Why 18 MB, as opposed to some other number?
Does this ROM auto install the ability to move apps to SD? It seems like I have no room to install hardly any apps.

when i flash the new nightly on my droid i wipe cache and flash overtop without flashing gapps and my phone is still set up the way it was prior. i was hoping it would be the case here too,but guess not.
i just saw that honeycomb was running on the desire z and ports have made it to the evo and incredible. wonder how long till someone attempts that for the lil ol eris![]()
downloading 1.6 now... im going to try again flashing overtop with no gapps, and if i get somethin wierd im going to restore my backup, then flash overtop with update and gapps. just to see what happens![]()

Yea Scotty that's a real pain in the backside if have to keep doing that. I think doogald has an answer for that. I'm on my phone right now until I get home so I have a hard time typing.

Here's the deal: when you flash GSB, the first thing that it does is to clear out the contents of /system in internal storage
