It wasn't happening all the time, and I wasn't able to pin down what the problem was, so I just wiped everything and reflashed last night. We'll see how things go today.

I've run across a couple of things, don't know if I'd call them bugs or not, but sometimes it takes forever to answer a phone call. I don't know if there is a setting that will allow the phone to wake up faster on a incoming call or not. The other thing is sometimes the accelerometer quits working and I have to reboot to get going again. When it gets stuck, I can tilt the phone any way, but the screen will never turn.

Anybody else seeing either of these?

The smartass governor seems to come out of sleep pretty quickly. I have mine overclocked to 710 MHz. You might try it, if you haven't already. Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Performance > CPU settings

I haven't had any issues at all with my accelerometer.

My phone just rebooted on its own out of the blue and my old timey TV turny offy thingy is working again! :)

I don't know what's up with that thing.

Amon's Recovery, in the wipe menu, has an option to wipe sensor settings. I suppose that you could try that and see if that helps.

nothing exciting in 1.8

holding out on trying it because I've been having enough problems with dropping/not getting calls recently. between google voice and a <-90 signal in my office the phone cries if I so much as try and load gmail.

At the present rate... I don't think I'm ever going to upgrade my phone. Might just hold on to it to see if Ice Cream ever becomes available. But that's it. No Ice Cream? I'm getting a Dinc!

Froyo not good enough for you?!

(Taking advantage of the double meaning of your post is too easy. I won't go there.)

I just flashed 1.8 and I'm happy to report that the old timey TV turny offy thingy works (so far). :)

What is this old timey tv turny offy thingy I keepy...err, keep, hearing about? I dont think it's ever worked on mine.

I mean sure, I've got a phone running a ROM it was never supposed to, with features it was never supposed to have, at speeds it was never supposed to have... but I NEED this too.

Settings > Cyanogenmod settings > Display settings > Screen-off animation

When the screen turns off, it looks like an old-fashioned TV screen turning off. It's kinda cool.

Looks like I'm one of the (un)lucky few this doesn't work for... guess I'll be throwing in with the GSB 1.8 hat to try my luck.

My impression is that it doesn't work for most people. I think it's a cool thing, but I set my animations to fast or off anyway, so no big deal to me.

So, I've been noticing some quick battery drain and when I check my battery stats dispaly is only using 38% of my battery and dialer is using 30% yet voice calls has only used 6%... What gives? Is this normal? If not, is there a fix? Is my phone going to explode?

Truth be told, I usually set mine the same way. A co-worker however was one of those that jumped on the Big Red iPhone grenade and just won't stop showing it off... So, I'm bringing the kitchen sink.

I must still be the unlucky few because I flashed 1.8 and still no old-time tv.:(

Edit: After rebooting two additional times I'm happy to report that my old-timey tv is back.:D

Edit: I've noticed that it's not as quick as the last time.

Speaking of TV, I downloaded the Xfinity TV app for Comcast. My wife had the remote and was watching one of her shows I changed channel on her a few times. She thought the neighbors were changing our channel LOL. Anyone have a spare room to rent :)

I love doing that kind of thing! :D

Funny thing was, the second to the last time I changed it. She got up and put a Kleenex box in front of the cable box. It still worked - and when I showed her the channel lineup on my phone, well, my left shoulder is still sore :D
