Help Glitchy Screen

Hey guys I just got my Nexus 4 and I'm freaking out cause it's like my baby and I have had this happen twice now. Once in the bottom part where the buttons are and once on the upper left part. I got a screen capture of the second time. Basically it gets all pixelly in those areas and does not show the correct image. What is this? Did I get a defective Nexus 4. This really upsets me.

You realize you just gave everyone on here Stephanie's phone number? Anyways, I don't see anything on the screen shot.

Edit: I see it. What messaging app is that? Remove the data and cache and reboot the device. If that doesn't work then I would say restore to a new phone. Did you just update to 4.2.2?

I had a worse glitch with the camera app, but the offset or wrapping effect is similar. It happened twice about a month ago and stopped. My fingers are crossed that it doesn't happen again

That looks like software, not hardware.

If it was hardware, it would happen on every screen.

Does this happen with other messaging software?

Yes I just updated it to 4.2.2 and thank you to who ever fixed and covered the number.I'm really grateful for that. I'll do a factory reset tonight and report back. Thanks guys.

Reset went well, had to travel all day so did it late last night. Haven't had any problems so far so seems all good. It only ever happened like twice, but all good so far anyway.

So just thought I'd fill everyone in. It's been a few days since the factory reset. The glitchyness has still not been seen so i'm quite happy. Just letting everyone know all is well and all that was needed was a factory reset.

Hey guys, so the glitchyness is still happening after the reset. Its not that big a deal once i swipe or touch the screen it goes away but I'm curious do I have a dud? Everything is fine, it's just every once in a while i'll get a glitch bit of the screen whether it be the top left like in the pic or along the bottom where the softkeys are. Doesn't seem to affect the response of the screen but I don't see anyone else complaining about an issue like this.
