Help Gmail App 4.6 (836823) : Email stuck in Outbox Issue

Hello Everyone,

I am using the latest version of Gmail app 4.6(836823) and i have recently switched to a Andrioid Phone - Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from an Iphone. I notice i sometimes have to deal with with email with Photos i am sending via Gmail app on my phone getting stuck in the Outbox of the gmail app. After this i cannot send any mail via the App even ones without any attachments.

I usually go to Settings ---General ----->Application Manager ---> Gmail----> Clear data/clear cache and then restart the Phone. This works for some time and again the Probelm reoccurs and i need to repeat the above Temporary Solution. This is very Annoying.

My Question is , is this a BUG? I am only sending a photo of size less than 3 MB .Curious to see if others are facing this issue from time to time. Is Google acknowledging this as an ISSUE?

Thanks,

I also have been having the same issue - for me, all thats required is a restart, and the email will usually go thru.

I also have the Note 3

BUT this is something i have been dealing with for YEARS on many devices running android.

It seems to me that google would want to make apps that work! ESPECIALLY their own!! ever tried to use google voice app on a regular basis? it crashes, doesnt refresh, and overall is VERY buggy.

The "sending emails with attachments" issue has been very frustrating for me, but ive "gotten used" to it. I just check about 5 - 10 min later to make sure messages with attachments have been sent properly. but i regularly send 12-20MB emails as well...

Ive been using dropbox more and more because of these problems.

Sorry - not much help here!

Yup. Buggy as all get out. Including those problems. I abandoned it after 2 days of use. Samsung had set my phone's gmail account using it in their store.

Really, really horrible.

I use a web browser interface with my phone's gmail account. Works perfectly every time including with attachments (and those pesky BCCs) - which is what I mostly use that gmail for.

Edit: There are also a number of other gmail apps on Play and I expect one of those will work properly. Several seem to be specialists for gmail accounts.

I've had this issue for years on all my android devices. The one thing I noticed was it only happened when I was using Wifi... So 2 options...
1.. copy the text from the email... delete the email from the outbox.. and resend it with wifi turned off.. I use ATT 4G LTE but I have seen this work on sprint as well as Verizon. So just turn wifi off and rewrite the email and send it.. and it will send right away.. guaranteed...

2.. If you cant copy and paste and just wanted to turn off wifi while sending.. that sometimes works for me.. Instead of it saying sending it will say retrying and it eventually sends...

BUT the fastest and easiest solution I've found is just redoing the email and sending it via my cell phone network...

I'm sorry this won't really work for any wifi only android users... I'm curious to see if anyone else on this forum benefits from this..
