Gmail App

Hello all,

I already have a couple gmail accounts on my phone (htc one x). However, I just got one from a college that has a custom extension (as in not @gmail.com). I can't add this account on my phone because when you go to add another account and click gmail, it automatically puts down @gmail.com and you can't change it. Does anyone know how I can put this gmail account into my phone so I can get email on it? Thanks!

As far as i know, the gmail app only handles googlemail accounts. Try using any other email app that came pre-installed on the phone or one from play store. I only use gmail but ive heard K9 is a good mail app

If you go to gmail on a computer you can go to Settings and "Accounts and Imports" and add your email account to gmail so that the other email will forward to you gmail and you can use gmail as a central application.

Go to mail.google.com on your pc or laptop and click Settings, then click the tab Accounts and Import. There you can add as many non gmail addresses as you need, pop 3 or other. Gmail will automatically forward those mails to your Gmail inbox.

You beat me to it, didn't see your reply :-)
