gmail - contacts bug

grrrrr this is bugging me. created a group in gmail with 150 friends, all contacts and in a group.

No other contacts or groups exist.

synced with desire, all working and correct.

If you however search for a sms or call contact, it displays anyone you have ever emailed in gmail, which is very frustrating. I see no way around stopping this apart from deleting them from within gmail.

anyone got any ideas on this?

You need to have the only show people with telephone numbers option ticked in the 'people' list.
