Hello. I am having trouble with an error message and don't know how to fix it. I would appreciate if anybody can figure out what's causing it or how to fix it. Thank you
I have had my phone (Verizon Droid Incredible 2) since December with one gmail account and one aol account on it. Last weekend, I installed a new aol account and deleted the original one (I was receiving too much spam). Ever since then I've been receiving an error message from time to time that Gmail is unable to send mail. But...
I have been perfectly able to send and receive mail with gmail without any problems. And the notification comes at random times when I'm not even trying to send anything from gmail (for instance, in the middle of the night).
I tried taking the battery out but that didn't help. I clicked on the error message which prompted me to click "finish" (or another option - can't remember what it said, probably "cancel"), I clicked "finish" but the problem continued. Another time I clicked "update password", re-entered my password then clicked "finish" and it said 401 error.
I brought my phone to a Verizon store, a tech support person downloaded Google K9 and recommended using that instead of the regular Gmail icon (app / widget?). That didn't solve the problem, plus every time I received email gmail and K9 both rang which was irritating. So I went to a second Verizon store to to fix the secondary problem (double notification with K9) and ask another tech support person if he knows what might be causing the error message and how to fix it. He uninstalled K9 for me, updated whichever of my apps needed that, but was unable to figure out what was causing the random error messages. He said the only other thing to do is a factory reset which means starting out from scratch like a brand new phone. I didn't want to do that as it took me a long time to get it the way I like it and getting it that way again is very intimidating. I just learned of the MyBackup app which might be helpful if I end up doing a factory reset - does anybody have any experience using MyBackup?
Thank you very much for your help.

) and I wonder if that could be part of the problem.
