Hello All
My HTC Sensation is about 8 or 9 months old and today it started acting strange. When I open my gmail I see the list of messages as normal, but the page keeps spinning as if I was doing a right to left swipe. It keeps doing until HTC Sense crashes and restarts.
I cleared gmail cache, then I tried todeleted gmail all together from apps manager, but it won't let me. I tried to delete it via a file manage app but the system wouldn't let me delete the folder. I rebooted many times, I even let battery stay out for 20 minutes on one of the boots. Booted without the SD. I don't want to do a factory reset but if I do, will that lock the phone simm again. I unlocked the phone last month with a code from T-Mobile.
All other apps work fine. If I start gmail it just starts spinning again and I have to hit the home button many times to get it to respond. I can open an email but only after repeatedly tapping the screen. Once an email opens It stops spinning. I was able to check settings while I had a message open and it doesn't seem to have anything crazy set like update every nano-second.
The only thing I did right before this happened was connect to a wi-fi router using the wi-fi protected setup, PBS (push button security) feature on the Dlink DIR 615 . But now the wi-fi is turned off of course.
I was going to download the gmail app again and reinstall it but I noticed my Market icon is gone. Not sure if that is related. I did receive a an update notice for my apps the other day which I ran. I tried removing update from the app manager for gmail and of course it didn't fix the problem. If I access my email with the standard email app that comes with the phone it seems to work fine.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks, Jim
