Help gmail help needed

Can anyone give me some help for using gmail, I cant get used to it. If I go to inbox, why are my latest emails not there, I have to go to all mail to get my latest emails...whats the point of having an inbox if youre latest emails dont go to it. And why do deleted emails stay in the deleted list and not actually get deleted. Ive always used hotmail before getting a tab on android and I just cant get used to how gmail works.

Any help, tips, hints, advice to using gmail very much appreciated, thanks!

I found it the easiest way to set gmail up properly was on a PC/Laptop incl folders for various e-mail groupings

Gmail is too overly complicated for its own good. Been using it for months and still not used to it. You just have to go through all the settings and set it up so email goes to inbox. I forget hiw I did that though.

I don't use Gmail very much but what you are describing is what I recall seeing when I got my first smartphone back in December. I believe that it was showing the "Priority Inbox" instead of the regular "Inbox". I think that is what solved my issue.

I don't worry a lot about deleted email. At the moment my trash bin has a lot of emails in it, but I don't think it's causing me any issues (as I said I'm a light user of the Gmail app).
