Updated to Froyo earlier today (about time!).
The new Gmail app gives me the normal push notification that I got a new email. I don't like to open the email directly through the push notification, so I open the gmail app to see more details of the email before I open it.
On 2.1, gmail would open my entire inbox, showing in boldface any unopened emails.
On Froyo, gmail by default opens the newest email in my inbox. I don't like this at all.
TL;DR - 2.2 gmail opens new emails for me; Stop it.
