Have discovered a couple of times now since having my Desire that every so often it just stops syncing to my Gmail account to collect new emails (and also any new contacts). This seems to happen once it gets to around 550 messages in the Inbox folder. If I delete old messages to reduce the total number of messages to below this then it starts syncing again. The phone is fairly full admittedly (shows 0.55Gb of total storage free, and 14.71MB of internal phone storage available). However, att 546 messages on the phone it was just showing GMail as using 4.52MB.
I would set the phone to only store a week or so's messages but there appears to be no way to set how much or how far back it holds GMail on the phone. Anyone got any ideas why the phone is stopping syncing once it gets to 550-ish messages in Inbox, and any suggested workaround?
Other thing that's bugging me - I hate Gmail's threaded message view and was delighted when I found that GMail recently added a setting in its web app to turn off threaded view. However, having done that, I still find my Desire displays messages in threaded view. Is there any way to make the Desire's GMail app conform with settings for this?
