Help Gmail not syncing

As of today I woke up to my screen displaying the message "Your phone is rooted." Which was strange to me, so I then rebooted my phone which prompted me to sign back into my google account. Well now I am getting the message of "There was a problem with communicating with Google servers. Try again later."
I also have a Galaxy S3 that I only use over wifi since it isn't hooked to any data plan. If anyone has a solution to this I would much appreciate it!!!

What phone do you have? It says HTC Incredible on your profile but I'm not sure if you have a Note 3 now as this is the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 section of the forum.
