Help Gmail notifications?

Why is it that sometimes when I receive emails I get two notifications for one email?? They are different formats of notifications though. Both from Gmail just different looking screens. I usually get the outlined envelope in my notification bar but sometimes will get that and also the solid white envelope. Both are the same email just two different notifications. Doesn't happen all the time. Any ideas? Thanks

One is from the Google Mail app, the other from HTC's(I'm assuming you've got an HTC) app. Go into whichever app you don't want the notification from and you can uncheck notifications.

Edit: just seen your sig, so you do have HTC's app on-board; also the reason it's not everytime is probably because you're reading the email in the GMail app before the HTC app has downloaded it, so when it does it's a read email, so doesn't notify... Probably.

In my "apps" screen I have a Gmail and a Mail. I went into the Mail app and turned off notifications. Thanks much bud!
