Gmail only for android?

I have a moto 3g 2015 mobile but don't have a Gmail account only hotmail, is there any backdoor way of accessing the play store apps without Gmail account?

as far as I know, no. But why not just make an account on your phone? it literally takes like 30 seconds to create. you don't have to use the Gmail of course but you'll gain access to the play store and any purchases you make with that account will be tied to it, that way when eventually upgrade to your next phone you won't have to repurchase those apps. of course you won't have to use play store to get apps but they have the best variety. Hope this helps.

I knew someone who used their internet providers email on their phone instead of Gmail - they could access the Play Store and download apps.

This was with Kit Kat, not sure if newer versions support it, but you can try adding the Hotmail account under Settings -> Accounts.

Let us know if it works. :)

Some ISP's and companies do not host their own email, but use Google to host it for them... some of those email addresses can be used for Google Account access.

But generally speaking, you need a Gmail, or Google hosted account, to access the Play Store or any Google services. You can always make an account just for the phone, but I caution you to setup the password recovery options and make absolutely sure you know the password and/or can recover it... If you have to do a factory reset and lose/forget your Google password and are unable to recover it, Factory Reset Protection will render the phone completely useless.

Remember there is nothing that says you have to actually use the email address for anything other than Google services... but trying to use a Hotmail account for Google access would be like trying to use your Costco membership at Sam's Club, it won't work.
