gmail sync shutdown?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone was having syncing issues with their gmail accounts this morning?

My contacts got screwed up and I tried syncing contacts and mail again, and it says that "Sync is currently experiencing problems. it will be back shortly"

Anyone else getting this?

I just tried to replicate your error and mine is working fine, could have been a temporary problem.

I had the same problem recently. After much wasted time with verizon support and motorola droid support I finally deleted the gmail account attached to the phone and reattached it. My contacts loaded fine and have been syncing correctly ever since. Not the best solution because your phone resets to factory settings but since all your Market downlaods are saved it ended up not being the headache I expected. If you find another solution, please post since I would love another fix should it happen again to me.
