Help GMail & Texted Messaging Notification

Can you have different notification tones for Text messaging and Gmail?

At this moment the phone chirps and I have to check both apps each time. Even the icon doesn't show which one received an incoming email or texted.

Check the notification settings in the specific app, it will let you change the sounds individually.

Anybody have any luck setting a custom sms sound? I put the mp3 on my phone and can see it in the music area but I have only been able to use stock tones. I typically use handcent, but its currently FC'ing (think it may be ICS related).

Try the zedge app. It's what I use to get new ringtones etc.
