Help Gmail won't update read / unread messages from server.

I added my gmail account to my EVO and when I check all of my messages on my desktop, shouldn't the EVO sync and have them marked as read? In my case they remain "unread" until I go through message.

Is this normal? If it is, is there any way around this? If it's not normal, how do I go about making sure it syncs?

It should sync up. Is your sync working fine otherwise (you get new mail messages, etc)? How is your network connection? It shouldn't be instantly updated, but it should be very quick.

have you tried restarting your phone? mine seemed to do this after the PRL update yesterday, but a restart fixed it.

I've got the same problem on my Huawei Android gmail.(
My read mails in telephone are not marked as read when I read gmail from the netbook.((((
