Help Gmap can't detect my location

Gmap can't detect my current location with location source set to Wireless network only. It used to work. but now I have to turn on GPS to find my location. Does anyone one know this is a device issue or Tmobile network issue?

we'll need some more information to really get at the issue -

Where are you when this happens? inside? Outside?

Happens everywhere or just in certain areas?

What kind of signal strength do you have otherwise when this happens?

Do you have cupcake?

Have you made any changes to your T-Mobile plan?

What do you mean by "can't find my current location"? What exactly happens?

I was inside with GPS turned off. Signal strength 2-bars. This started since 2 or 3 weeks ago before I had cupcake update. No change with tmobile plan.

I open Gmap->menu>my location, it shows briefly 'Trying to determin your location', then a few seconds later, shows another message 'Your location can not be determined....'

Similar issue with other apps that rely on locations (Where, handstand). They used to be able to find my current location without turning on GPS. Now they can't. Where will just hang on trying to find my location.

If you have not rooted your phone.... then you might try :

Power off phone ...
Remove the Battery
Wait Two Minutes
Reinsert battery
Power On Phone

See if phone has cleared .... possibly the GPS receiver is locked and this may clear it ...

You may have a damaged GPS receiver .... warranty item return the phone for replacement.
Sorry I probably didn't describe my issue properly. My GPS works fine. If I turn on GPS, gmap and any other location based apps has no issue pin-point my location. What i want is the coarse location normally provided by just the wireless network as location source, without turning GPS on. That has not been working for a few weeks.

I saw someone posted a similar issue on Tmobile forum, and his solution is to leave GPS on for a few days, and then turning off GPS with wireless network checked seemed worked for him again. I tried that, and no luck so far.
