I do not have the app No Lock. I have been searching all over the internet and on this forum but I have not seen anyone have this problem yet. So here is what I am seeing.

When I go to:

Settings->Device->Lock screen-> Select screen lock

I select say pattern lock. It asks me to enter my pattern which I do twice. After I confirm that pattern it asked me to enter a backup PIN. Which I do again twice, then it takes me back to the Lock screen and the Screen lock entry at the top of the phone says, “Secured with pattern”.

So I think everything is good to go right? I lock my phone to test it by pressing the power button on the right hand side of the phone. When I press it again, it gives me the swipe lock screen with my personal message at the top, time, date, and at the bottom it shows that swipe shortcuts that I originally setup when I use swipe to lock the phone.

It Never gave me a pattern to unlock my phone.

I have repeated this process with PIN and Password lock and every time it takes me back to the swipe lock screen. I can only assume it is a bug with the GN3. In the mean time, I have had to use an app called “GO Locker” to lock my phone to protect my data in case it gets lost or stolen.

The same exact problem is on my wife phones. We purchase them at the same time.

Does anyone have any idea why this will not work properly?

There are two times here. One turns the screen black after the number of seconds you choose (Display/Screen Timeout). The other turns on the lock screen (Secured Lock Time).

So if you have 30 seconds for the screen timeout and 5 minutes for the lock time, after 30 seconds, the screen goes black. If you hit the power button, you're asked to swipe. It hasn't been 5 minutes yet, so the screen isn't locked. Let it sit for 5 minutes and you'll be asked for your pattern.

You can, if you want, set both of them to the same time, so that as soon as the screen goes black, the pattern lock is needed. Some people prefer that, some prefer a few minutes to just swipe before having to unlock. (And there are apps that keep the screen from going out if it's charging, or to keep the lock off if you're connected to your home wifi. Choices, choices.)
