Thats a rom issue as you lost the apps from wiping data.

Well I am in a similar situation. I tried the Turbo 4 and I get stuck in the Velocity Boot Loop.
I first tried wiping everything putting on a clean Nandroid, then wiping dalvik and cache again then applying the patch. That put me in the boot loop. Next I wiped everything then put Nandroid on and did not wipe dalvik and cache again. same result. Next I tried doing the same thing but letting it boot up once normally then going into recovery and then apllying the zip. Again same result. The last thing I tried was a fresh copy of velocity .3 straight from the zip then applying the turbo4. It worked great.
Now the bad thing is I dont want to have to redo all of my settings and icons. What do I do???

Ok I figured everything out except for two things. the 1st is a minor issue.
I dont know how to make my ringtones go back the way they were. 2 I dont have apps2sd anymore. I even repartitoned and still Nothing I had 74 MB now I only have 18 MB YIKES!!
What do I do?
I need my apps2sd guys. :(
One good thing thow was I was able to use titanium back up and Launcher pro to get all my apps and home screens back with very little trouble.

Can anyone help?
Dots Maybe??? LOL

Well nevermind I used Killertonez Apps2sd and it worked like a charm. Still dont know why Velocities didnt work but hey its all good now Thanks to KILLERTONEZ.

Now just need to find that app that backs up ringtones to contacts. :D

Holy Cow Angry Birds Really flys now... LOL
get it Flys.... erm... ah hem

Sorry about that.

But seriously It runs SOOOO much smoother than it did.

Also went ahead and took the new you tube app. It actually runs with the new turbo4 where as the stock one from velocity kept poo pooing. That was the reason I abandoned Overclocking in the begining.

Wow good stuff.
I cant get a stable 787 though just a stable 748 STILL VERY COOL and respectable.

Again Hats off to the Drellisdee.

My Ally sux...I can only OC to 748(or 74something can't recall now).
But, I do gotta say, the ROMs and OC kernels D

Donated and I hope others do so as well if they're using this! I appreciate the work. It hasn't been flawless for me, but overall it is an improvement no doubt. I think I'm one of those unlucky fools that can't go very high without panic. I can do 729, but anything above that causes panic almost instantly. I also noticed my battery temp seems high. It runs about 86 at idle, but if I start playing something, say angry birds, widgets start force closing in the background, and the battery temp climbs to over 100 degrees pretty quickly. This is on stock rom. I get 7+ megaflops on linpack. Thanks again!!

Yeah that's what I did, and for some reason I can't go over 528 Mhz. It makes me wonder if I did something wrong, or if I'm just cursed with a slow phone. I have Raptor, as I said, so it's rooted. I installed setcpu, and picked "custom" from the list (since the Ally isn't listed) and all I can do is 528. The version of setcpu I was using I got from a torrent, and I saw some screenshots that looked slightly different so I went ahead and purchased it from the Market, but I get the same results.
That's why I'm wondering if I should try the other one, GNM_Turbo4.

Did you wipe cache and Dalvik cache?

Quick question...can I flash this on my wife's stock vzc rom? she's not interested in oc'ing, but I know the kernel gets better battery life and she absolutely hates the batt life she gets now. And, do I have to root the phone first since i'm not oc'ing? probably do anyway to flash the recovery, just wondering for sure.

Yeah I just flashed it over my VZC update, it works fine. No need to get SetCPU, as the free Overclock Widget in the market works just fine. Make sure you go to advanced settings, define frequencies and save.

I'm not really a complete newb, but I have a newb question...which of the three options on the first post should I download?

I feel no need to overclock, I just want my Ally to be faster. I'm currently using this >> http://androidforums.com/ally-all-things-root/204838-gpl-lg-ally-kernel-2-6-29-6_gnm_oc.html << kernel, but I'm getting KP's when I multitask..I.E. Market, plus Dolphin Browser is enough to KP.

Edit: I'm running an average 5.5 mflops on linpack with the above mentioned kernel.

Okay, here is the deal, I read so many threads about flashing and all that stuff, I got Rom manager and Set CPU that you were asking for the flashing and the overclocking, I did a backup of the phone on my SD card.

Now, I downloaded velocity 0.3 and I dont know how to install it with the rom manager, I just put all the files unziped in a folder named Kernel on my SD card, and when I use rom manager to install a rom from SD card I cannot select any file, I can only browse inside all the folders that unziped in my Kernel folder I named...

Or else, If I dont need that rom to install the GNM turbo 4, I dont understand either how to do it ... I'm not a newb with computers, but I pretty comfused how to install the new rom and the overclock program to run my games better.

Anyone can help me in details please ...

hello, i think i broke the phone... I recently was trying to install a ROM with the ROM Manager.. i did the flash and did the install from the SDCard ... selected the backup current rom option and proceeded.. it look like it backed up everything and was installing the ROM.. once it rebooted, the phone just keeps rebooting.. it shows the LG logo and then goes to the Verizon logo... and it re-starts again and it keeps cycling on that.. PLEASe HELP!!

Ok first pull your battery, put it back in and hold down end, call and menu hold it untill you get to recovery.
You can do one of the following two next:

1) if you made a nandroid backup you could restore it

2) or you could wipe davik cache and reinstall the ROM

By the way did you clear the data and both caches before you installed the ROM? Because that could be the problem. Also what ROM did you install? If it was Velocity 1.0 make sure phone was on android 2.2.1
