Help Go Launcher Battery Life

I've been using Go Launcher for the past month and I've noticed a significant decrease in battery life. Ok so it is my understanding that Sense is on top of ICS... so is Go Launcher is on top of Sense? If Go Launcher is my default launcher does that deactivate Sense? If not could this be why I've noticed a change in performance?

Well GO Launcher is a hog in many ways and is very intensive. Sense is really the entire interface and not just the launcher, "Rosie". But Rosie doesn't run if you have your custom launcher open for long enough to save memory.

When I switched to Go Launcher I noticed an increase in battery life (decrease in drain) over Sense (Rosie).

I do not use many widgets, so that might be a significant difference. I have always found the biggest difference to be in the apps loaded on my phone.

Given a static set of apps and a routine movement with in your coverage area the screen seems to be the big drain. My 3VO seems to handle deep sleep well, even with all radios on. The huge draw on battery seems to be screen on conditions. How long the phone lasts on a charge has a strong correlation to how long the screen is on.

My Triumph was terrible with any of the radios on, it just didn't go into deep sleep.

I have sworn by Battery Mix for the tools to track down battery draining apps. Better Battery Stats is also an excellent tool, but less intuitive.

I left Go Launcher quite a while ago and couldn't be happier. It was nice for a while but it became far too bloated with useless features.

Apex and Nova launchers are both lightweight and have a nice ICS-like (Holo) look to them. I'm currently using Nova and love it.

Nova is my favorite as well. I love the "speed-of-light" mode for animation-less operation. Fast, to-the-point. Animations are stupid and waste my valuable seconds.
