Go Locker theme too small

yoonaa

Lurker
I have a new HTC One and I just updated my phone from 4.3 to 4.4.2, ever since the update my GO Locker screen has had a problem. It looks like the screen is too small and reveals a bit of my icons of my phone on the bottom.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Have you uninstalled/reinstalled go locker? You should do this with any apps that are acting up after a major update.

You should even do a full data factory reset to get rid of glitches with major updates just like this.

If you've already done both, then it would be worth shooting at email to the developer to see if they can give you a hand since it is their app.

i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling...nothing there:( how do you do a factory reset?

Before taking the drastic step of a factory data reset, a question:
Is this an official update to 4.4.2 intended for your phone, or did you sideload it and install yourself? My reason for asking is because not all updates are created equally - there are device-specific parameters involvd. I'm thinking that the screen density (DPI) may be wrong if you installed it yourself and it's possibly intended for another device type. If this is the case, your only recourse is to either flash the correct update or to root your phone (which would allow you to change DPI on a per-app basis).

If this was just a normal update with an unexpected consequence, try contacting the developer. They may be aware of it or suggest a work-around. If all else fails, you can go ahead with the factory reset, which is initiated by doing a recovery boot. Research online for "recovery boot [insert device make/model here]" and you should find full instructions (probably even video). Be aware that a reset will erase all personalizations and settings, AWA apps you downloaded. Backup what you can and write down or take a picture of what you can't. Apps downloaded from Google Play will be restored the first time you connect. GL!

I was thinking that too because my brother has the exact same phone as me and his phone didnt tell him to update. the only difference is we got our phone in different countries. Is it possible my phone got the update and his hasn't? what does flash the correct update do and is there anyway i can downgrade back to 4.3?

Getting them in different countries can affect when you get updates - handsets have different customer ids.
