Help go sms for android issue

I need help bad...i had some text messages from someone who has passed away....those text messages are very special to me. Using go sms i moved the texts to the private box using a password. I wanted them back in my inbox so i went i to the private box and it had 2 selections...delete or remove. I did not want to delete them so i thought remove meant remove them from the private box and put back where they were. Well i was wrong....those texts are gone. How can i retrieve them? On a side note...when i had them in the private box i locked the messages as well.

Someone please help....i am so heartbroken over losing these messages.

Open the default/stock SMS, are they in there?

You could also try to back them up, if they are still somewhere on your phone it's possible a backup system will find them. I use SMS Backup+, it pops my important messages in Gmail.

Not sure what, if anything, you can do if they are really gone though.

No they arent in stock messages either...i did back up and nothing. I have an email into the developer so maybe they can help.

I've not used Go SMS for about 4 years, and never used its "private box" feature, but I would guess that when you moved them there you made them part of Go SMS's application data and removed them from the general SMS inbox (if not then anyone could read them using any other SMS client, and the "privacy" wouldn't be worth much). So unless you backed up app data generally (e.g. using Helium) or used Go SMS's own backup feature (with that set to back up the private box too) I don't think the odds are good.

The only positive is that presumably there is some difference between "delete" and "remove"?

I can only hope the Go developers have some idea (and can be bothered to help).

I think the Go developers are Chinese and I'm afraid I've never had a sensible reply from them.
