Help Go SMS Pro showing multiple duplicate contacts

When I am in Go SMS pro and hit the new SMS icon, in the "to" box where you start to type your contact name, if for example I type "dad" then I get 8 duplicate "dad" entries. I have deleted all the sim card contacts, i then went through "go contacts" and saw that there were duplicate numbers in some entries and manually deleted every single duplicate in every contact. I have checked on the stock contact app that even there it does not show duplicates in any contact. Have set Go SMS to only show phone contacts, unchecked google, sim and facebook. Can anyone shed any light on how to fix this? Running Oxygen ROM on HTC Desire. Thankyou.

have you tried clearing data on the go sms app via manage applications? It wont wipe your actual messages as theyre in another database.
