Going back to Kit Kat? HTC One M8

Just got the lollipop update yesterday, for T-Mobile. To say the least I really don't like it, it looks completely the same and the only changes are negative ones, for me. From no widgets on the lock screen, to not seeing message previews in the notification bar, to not being able to exit some apps in the drop down menu, even to how the Google keyboard performs I'd much rather have kit Kat back. Is it possible to flash an older version of android via ota zip files etc, like nexus devices so I don't have to wipe my whole phone?

Yes and no.

You can get Sunshine s-off to unlock your bootloader without losing anything ($25) then backup all of your stuff, install KitKat and then restore the backup.

You're going to have to erase regardless, but doing it as I suggested will give you access to better root backup apps.
