going on my 4th galaxy s 2 in 2 months

So sick of this phone. First one burned up in 3 days. Battery went toast. Second one stopped charging. Now the 3rd one wont charge. Never have I had problems my cell phones in 20 years. This phone is truly a piece of crud. Att said all they can do is keep sending me the same phone over and over. I offered $50 more to upgrade to the skyrocket. They said "no". Just plain stupid. Sorry I ever left the iPhone.

Maybe after my 5th exchange I can get a new one. Lol

Yep... Samsung is selling defective phones. Congratulations for cracking the high-level security code, to expose all these issues.

I find dropping my phone repeatedly, hasn't brought upon these symptoms. Any advice, on how I can so rapidly destroy my phone and receive special notes in AT&T's database to blow me off, when I call.

The first thing I noticed was that apparently each phone you have had an issue with resulted in a charging or battery problem. What are you charging the phone with? Where are you plugging it into?

If they are only replacing the phone and not the charger, you may have a defective charger supplying far too much amperage and rapidly burning out the phones. Try a different charger.

The only thing I can think of is I got a car charger from best buy with the phone. When I have it plugged in it is hard to text. It freezes up. I wonder if is the car charger from there that is screwing up my phone. Maybe it is frying my end where the charger goes. I'm going to take it to best buy when I get my replacement phone again and ask them. I plug my chargers in like I always have in the past. I've never had to deal with 4 bad phones before. So far the warranty store has said defective phone every time. Not the user. Can a bad car charger ruin the part where you plug your phone? Or a bad home charger?

Cool to see you back and open-minded about troubleshooting. Well, unless you have the right test gear... You're in kind of a bind. Unfortunately, your phone has kind of been it, to date. However, you said Best Buy gave you a car charger also. I'm assuming they gave you a Rocketfish as it doesn't come stock with a car charger and Rocketfish is their store brand.

Me personally, I don't like their stuff. Had problems with 2 of the 3 labeled items from them. I actually don't like any of ths power adaptors, except for the Samsung stuff, for these phones. Both my Captivate and this phone prefer the Samsung brand accessories.

My guess... Its the car charger. Though you might want to stop at a hardware store and pick up a wall socket tester (they're like $5, if that). Check the power in your house. Its not a probability, a you would be burning out other stuff... But maybe check the outlet, if there's a specific one, you always use.

I'll say this about chargers: when I tried using my old OG Droid with a charger that didn't come with the phone, the screen would go nutty sometimes. There'd be no way I could text or do anything that needed a precision touch on the screen. If I plugged in the charger that came with the phone, it was fine.

So perhaps there really IS something to the fact that you've been plugging the S2 in to a non-OEM charger.

People do have this bad of luck, you dont even know. My inspire 4g had keyboard issues so i sent it in for warranty, and the sent me another, that one lagged and the keyboard was messed up and i only got one bar of service, then they sent me another phone, that 1 had terrible data speeds where my brother and mothers phone had fine data speeds, they send me another same data issues. So i told them im sick of receiving the same defective phone i want something different, before they authorized that i needed to get a new sim card and it still wasn't working so they sent me a SGS2. Be patient and tell the people you want to explore new options.

drrandall: To answer your questions about home and car chargers, yes and yes, whether the chargers themselves or the current from the source. Statistically, no way you got the 4 bad phones.

I'll add two more sources as unlikely as they are: The vendor or its supplier(s). The phones may have been improperly stored. Given the supply chain, that is not likely.
