Root Going to Japan, have some questions.

I have a rooted phone running 2.3 with Backside ROM with CyanogenMod-7.1.0. I'm going to Japan for 10 days and I was wondering what functions will work on my phone while I'm there. I noticed that in the mobile network settings there is an option to turn on 'International data roaming.' Does this I mean I will be able to use 3G in Japan? Will I be able to send texts or place calls?
 
you will have no phone service outside of the U.S.
but other than not being able to call, text, use 3G, you have a pretty nice mp3/video/camera/game player.
 
Wifi will still work. Set up GrooveIP, and you will be able to make calls over wifi. There are also numerous apps that allow you to send texts over wifi.
