Root Going to root....

Or just try loading the .zip, since you've never loaded a ROM it wouldn't technically be necessary to wipe. Either way you should be okay, wiping the caches is just usually a precautionary step.

ok got it...how loch does the new adroid...system loading screen take? will i have to hit the home key every time?

You shouldn't have to hit the home key for anything on the loading screen. It'll take anywhere from 30 seconds to a little over a minute to boot, depending on how loaded down the phone is and how finicky your particular hardware is with the custom kernel and rom.

ok im not sure whats goin on...it is freezing at loading screen? little circular thing at bottom stops moving after a while...nothing is loading? did I do someting wrong? oh boy...here we go again...

After loading the kernel/ROM the 1st boot may take longer than normal. Boots after the 1st though should be a bit shorter

Okay, first thing's first. Does your phone actually boot up as it normally would (ie-brings you to the lock screen)? Because if you have the circle load screen, it should boot up normally after that unless something went wrong loading the ROM. At least if it does that it means the kernel is fine and should load fine. Trying booting up normally and seeing what it does. Let me know what happens.

ok i went into clockwork and redid the rom thing. it wouldnt take me to my lock screen. so as of right now im robooting.... dunno whats gonna happen...it loaded fine with the kernell part...i rebooted twice to see if that would work. it seemed to...lets see if it freezes again

Wait to see if it loads the lock screen it might take a while. If the lock screen doesn't load properly, you could go into Clockwork and try wiping cache and davlik cache and reapplying the ROM. If that doesn't work, you could restore the backup you made prior to the kernel and the ROM and reapply the kernel and ROM. Take it step by step though and report it here.

it says file not found when i click on the name of the back up file i want to install from sd card...oh god....what am i missing?

The backup files are under 'backup and restore'. Select 'restore' and it should show you all the backups you made. Select the most recent.
