Root Going to root....

That will remove root, jt stupid fast kernell, and everything? I wouldnt have unroot and what not? Well dang that sounds easy enough! So if I ever mess up loading a rom just wipe data and do a factory reset? Man that would have been easier last night! Lol

it *might* remove root...i havent had to odin the system in a while so im not 100% on that...anyone else odin in awhile :eek:


but if you ever boot loop on a rom/kernel just batt pull and boot into recovery then cwr and load a backup or in the case of a kernel that doesnt take you could just flash a new kernel and reboot
 
Whats boot loop? if I can only get into recovery mode, how do I load new kernells and roms to to boot into?
 
So if load into recovery, and wipe data factory reset, this will return everything to stock? Including sd card? Erases stupid fast?

factory data reset does not affect your kernel, just the data stored on the phone. you can restore a backup and have it all back though.
 
I like storms blackish mod theme! That is on rom manager correct, under jts super clean .4? Im still cofused when they call it a theme. Is it a rom? Will that theme and rom with jts stupid fast give me better battery life?
 
So now that I have stupid fast kernell, the only way to get my factory one back is to do a backup restore?
 
Sweet! I just restored. Was gettin fc all of us a sudden? I moved tw with saps method an made lp my only launcher. Never had a fc before? Oh well maybe I will just unfreeze the vzw stuff and get the ota updates. I think this stuff is a bit over my head. My heart cant take many more heart attacks! Lol
 
Also I have noticed that if I hold the home button and go into task manager, I have a new option where it shows how much ram im using. Battery moniter? Wtf is that?

the first time you do the lpp/adw replace tw thing in root explorer you will get force closes...just batt pull and reboot or hold power to bring up power options and quickly try and hit power down (or reboot if your theme has that)

thats just the built in task monitor on our phones
 
please private message me an answer to this as i dont get to check back into the message forums as often as id like right now since im on vacation but i rooted my lg optimus s and i have a system update ready for install. i think i heard or read that this will cancel my root. is this true or is it safe to run the system update? and where can i pick up nandroid or another form of nand disabler. i intend to read more functions i obtain through root within the next couple weeks but right now i just use it for battery life as well along with very few other features

in general though otas will break root.
 
Kinda off subject...what is a good keyboard to get? I had swype but I've lost it somehow. I don't want predictive text either, it messes me up.

i havent used it, but zinc or superdark may remove swype or moves it to like sdcard/extras or something

if you flash a backup you'll get it back or if you flash jts rom (i think)
 
Ok thus far I have rooted. I got ti back up and froze a bunch of crap. I also got rid of tw through saps method. Then I did cwr through oden. Did a backup. Flash stupid fast that went fine. Tried to load super dark and it froze at boot screen. Maz got me back to my backup through cwr. Thanks maz! Then I flashed stupid dark again. Got fc on all kinds of stuff. Restored again. Haven't flashed since. If I want to go back to unrooted state, all I have to do now is undo the tw move, unfreeze everything, and then unroot and I should be back to stock correct? Thanks!
