People just don't get this...Verizon is Sprint's preferred roaming partner. If a Sprint signal isn't available it automatically finds a Verizon tower. There is no charge for this roaming. The opposite is also true. It's been this way for quite some time.

Why has this forum become full of such hate? When the captivate first came out everyone was cool. Now it seems like everyone is just a total douche about everything. Don't knock someone because they suggest an iPhone. It's not necessary. All you do by jumping on anyone who mentions the iPhone is show that YOU are the fanboy by bashing that person.

Not trying to Flame in any way shape or form. The poster in question isn't simply suggesting an iPhone, he is trying to start a Flame war by being inflametory.
"Get an iPhone 4 if you must be on AT&T, or wait and see if they ever get a real Android phone made by HTC.
And I wouldn't bother informing everyone you're selling yours, you're just going to get a bunch of people trying to justify their phone isn't crap."
I simply feel if he doesn't like the phone why troll here? Why not just let those who want to discuss the Captivate or even grumble a bit do it in peace?

ah. did not realize this.
i did look into other carriers a few weeks ago as when this whole "upgrade" thing came up (the touchscreen on my eternity died) and i was not happy with at&t switching my data plans, but to go with anyone else would have cost me about 30% more per month as my other plans (voice and messaging) are grandfathered and is quite a bit less than what i could get from the other carriers.
still may switch tho as while i do like the captivate, it does have some annoying issues, and i'm still not real happy with at&t...

Funny, I found the opposite to be true. When the phone came out, there was a lot of nastiness and such on these forums, while all the people who didn't research the phone (or were iphone fanboys and were talked into this one by AT&T reps) were crying about every.little.thing that wasn't perfect on the phone.
As those clowns have left (and undoubtedly moved onto their pretty little walled gardens), this place has calmed down, turned into a more helpful, constructive community.
People get their rankles up though when someone comes in and makes a pointless thread like this one, where they're telling people that they're getting rid of their phone and going to [pick your choice of model/carrier] and cop a 'tude like we're a bunch of idiots for sticking with our less than perfect phone.
Personally I couldn't give a damn if the OP or anyone else returns their phone and/or what they might replace it with. That's their prerogative - but there's no place for it on a forum like this.
