Good Gift?

Oh, hey everyone!

So I've been planning on getting this tablet for my mom on her birthday. Do you all think this is a good gadget for someone in their mid-50's? I was wondering how great the learning curve is for someone who is coming from a less than stellar smart phone and if she might get annoyed trying to figure out how things work on it.

Depends on what kinda smart phone she has. She is using a Android based smart phone I dont think the learning curve will be that great. She coming from something else then there might be a small learning curve. Personally I found android easy to use but I am tech savvy. As far as the Galaxy Tab's Interface its pretty basic android there are some minor differences but nothing major. Personally I have found touchwiz interface to be nice extremely nice for the way I use my tablet.

Depending on how tech savvy she is you might also look at the Kindle Fire its a little more user friendly but is kinda limited to what you can do.

You're a good son. :) I'm sure you can teach her how to use this tablet. I think it would be a great gift.

Thanks for the input! I ended up getting my mom the device and it turned out that the whole family loves it! The only gripe we have is that Bejeweled isn't compatible with it  lol! Other than that, it's amazingly simple to use and it was just swell to see a smile that money can't buy!

Its one of the cooler bejeweled clones I have found just be careful with it. I literally sat there one day played it for like 2hrs straight its like tetris. Telling your self 1 more game dont work lol
