Root Good News

[joser116]

I have read over at the XDA forums that a Google developer is working on a Froyo ROM only for Cricket( sorry guys with Metro) which will be clocked at 800MHz. These are the first news of any ROM being worked on for the Ascend. Even better, a Gingerbread ROM is being considered. What a great day today.

Ah, that is awesome. It does suck since I am on Metro though. =(

Do you have Cricket coverage?

Do you have Cricket coverage?

I do not. I'm in South Florida, and really haven't heard of Cricket until I came to this forum.

Actually, looking at their coverage map it says it does cover us, but they just don't sell service around here. We don't have Cricket retailers down here yet.

I can't wait, wow, 800 mhz, I wonder if thats the same xda thread im reading where isaac is working with the kernal source code atm.

If that's the same thread over at XDA, where the fellow claims he works for Google and will only do Cricket, I do believe it's fake. I don't mean to be skeptical here, or imply that perfect grammar is required to work at Google, but the posts made by that guy do not seem to imply that he is employed by such a large, indemand company such as Google. He also appears to be in New Mexico which has no Google offices that I know of.
