Good time to buy?

I've currently got a HTC Desire HD. Its been a good phone to me over the last few years, but its starting to really feel slow now. I've factory reset a couple of times already this year. I've also routed and I'm trying different ROMS...but the the phone is still not powerful enough for what I'm doing, and often hangs.

Anyway, i'm currently out of a contract (on GiffGaff...) and I'm almost certain the Note 2 is the device I want. Looking at contract deal comparison sites, the best deal I can see is: 1000 mins / uld txt / uld data / free handset, for

I went from a desire hd to a gn2 and you wont believe how much better it is especially battery life. The only thing I actually preferred on the dhd is the stock browser, everything else on the gn2 is way better and
