Goodbye OG DROID

The phone served me well for the past 28 months. Longest lasting cell phone I ever owned. It has been through a lot and still looks good for it's age. Sure, there are some scratches and gouges here and there, even a dent on edge, so close to the glass that it's hard to believe the glass survived. And survive it did. No scratches or chips, even with the physical challenges it went through. Unfortunately, age just catches up with everything eventually.

Made the move to the Maxx with it's 4g speed and dual core power, it's time to move on. I hope it proves to be as resilient as it's Moto kin. Only time will tell.

On a embarrassing note, the females in the plan had to have the iPhone. Oh, the shame of it all.

I just walked the same path you did and was wondering how you like the Maxx compared to the OG Droid. My old Droid still runs fine but it was kind of slow and would take up to a minute to refresh the home screen. I have cleared pretty much everything off it and plan to use it as a backup MP3 player. The responsiveness of the Maxx compared to the OG Droid is night and day and of course there is no comparison in battery life.

Please put your droids on the used market. The folks using Page Plus Cellular would be tickled pink to be able to get one of these for $50 or so.

Sorry about the delay in responding. I love the new phone. Very fast and responsive. Like you, my DROID was getting slow. The Maxx is really fast in all aspects - switching screens, opening apps, internet, etc. The size takes some getting used to, just like when I first started with the D1. Maxx feels lighter and is not so heavy feeling in my pocket - the weight being distributed over a wider area my actually help with this. I'm still playing with it to get the setting customized. Battery will easily last the whole day without charging. Something I could never do with D1. Overall, I'm happy with it.

vey - Not selling the D1. It will stay as my backup phone in case something happens to one of the iPhones. If it has to go back into service, I'll jailbreak it again and crank up the CPU and let it go for as long as it will last.
