Google 3.1 Roll Out for XOOM

I heard Asus tablet has already received the update in uk..Also the toshiba thrive has 3.1 version while releasing.Why is Motorola delaying this for Non-US users??
 
I have heard the worldwide rollout has stalled in Australia as they are having problems. So still waiting I am afraid.
 
Yup, OS still basically a bit broken. SD card still not usable. Can't return tablet. Resale has already gone into the toilet. Reseller blames Motorola. Motorola blames Google. Think there's a single chance of getting any satisfaction with el Goog?
 
Unfortunately there is nothing about countries outside europe. Mind you the article does say you can force the update as from the 9th. Perhaps that will work for you too.

What you mean by forcing is just checking for an update manually? I bet that won't work for us Canadians...
 
Not sure what they mean by that to be honest, they could mean that You simply click on tthe software update option in the 'about tablet section or that they will make the update available online.

Really dont know. We should find out within the next week or so.... I checked today, even set date to the future but nothing yet.
 
Yes, UK WiFi updated. Just check for updates in About Tablet and you should be good to go. Motorola have announced this on Facebook.

I've played around a little and can't see any increase in performance. Browser still closes randomly.
 
Same here, although mine does seem to run a little faster. Browser still sucks though.
anyone know how to change the size of widgets?
Skype still does not allow video calls but im works on it. Update comes with a new 'file app' that allows you to browse your sd card! Finally.

No other improvements or changes noted...
 
Long press and don't move a widget to get a resize box. Some work, some don't... Gmail and Google calendar do work, YouTube and picture frames don't seem to.
 
Got it. Resizing widgets are fun. Marked works again after having install problems for a while. Browser seems to have a little fewer force closures. Not played around with Files enough to see if it can replace Astro filemanager. Anyone tried SD cards yet?
 
just got mine today (didn't have my tablet on yesterday)

Don't have an SD card yet to try out, but have a 32 gig class-10 Micro SD-HC on its way from Newegg.

Upgrade went flawlessly, and it seems flipping the screens seems a little smoother, so we'll see how it responds to other stuff in the coming days/weeks of use.


Funny how within a week or two of Google taking over Motorola, the update is out :p
