Google Ads

Duckster

Android Enthusiast
Some of you may have noticed, but I just found it. Google targets our Note 3 (not sure about other phones) phones with ads based on apps. It even has an advertising ID but I'm not sure how to turn it off completely. You can "Reset advertising ID" to generate a new one, but I just don't see how to turn it off completely. I'm not sure what ads are showing. To Opt out:

SETTINGS
ACCOUNTS (select GOOGLE)
ADS

...and then check "Opt out of interest-based ads". I reset my ID before Opting out.

Where are these Google Ads showing up Duckster? I don't use many Google apps so maybe I'm missing something I'd be interested in. Are they just advertising Google apps or are they pushing stuff you can get in the Play Store from other developers?

Are these the type of ads we would get in google now or the pop up ads we get while on a web page...or could they just be the ads that show at the top of a search page...have you noticed the first few suggestions after you search all say ads and are highlighted...the number of these seems to be increasing so I will disable for now and see what happens.

From what I see at the bottom of the settings, it says "Ads Settings: Control the types of interest-based ads that Google may show you across its network of partner apps." My best guess is that will show up on google Play.

Thank you. ....
