Help Google back up settings

I set my new SGN2 up today and my htc droid inc never asked this question during setup so i got a little confused.

if i uncheck backup my data to google server [wifi data, app data] and automatic restore would google still back up contact data changes that are made on the phone [which is what i want]

i dont want to back up app data or wifi data to google but i do want my contacts backed up.

This backup is meant to restore your phone a little easier should you lose it, break it, factory reset.

Your contacts will be stored wherever the contacts provider stores them. In your case, you are using Google, so they will sync as they always have.

so should i check it or uncheck. i dont want to store wifi passwords on google though.

You should probably leave it unchecked, then.

thanks. then all i will be missing is the fact that google wont automatically load the apps i downloaded and paid for is that correct? i will just have to dl them manually? if i uncheck?
