Just read that google is buying Motorola mobility for 12.5 billion. I hope this makes Motorola a pure google experience and that we get the updates like icecream first being aowned by google.

Death to motoblur! haha

No but seriously this is great news for us motorola owners and even makes my atrix purchase thattt much more awesome, nothing but good came come now.

Yeah i just found out!! google bought motorola for a very cheap price!!, now makes me feel a whole more special that i have my Motorola Atrix instead of taking the Inspire. Could this mean that recent motorola handsets, will have ICS sooner, maybe a couple of months after ICS comes out.

I wouldn't hold my breath on the Atrix getting ICS anytime soon. The article said that Moto would be run as a separate entity, not integrated as tightly as the other companies Google has purchased. Although, I could be wrong and it would reduce the number of hoops that ICS would have to jump through to get onto Moto devices (AT&T for example).

While it's cool news, I don't see the Atrix being the staple of Google or Android just because of this. Motorola owns a bunch of patents which is a big reason why Google also chose to buy them. I don't think we will see the impact of this acquisition until they release future devices.
