When adding events on my google calendar online, once it shows up on my phone, there is no reminder set on my phone, is there a setting that can change that?

did you set a reminder when you added the event?

You can add a reminder from the phone also. Open the event, Menu, Add Reminder.

@euph_22 - its automaticly set on the web page, but my phone calendar will show a reminder on it
