Help Google caller ID on Galaxy S6

Hey everyone,

I used to have a Nexus 5 and love in Lollipop how you can use Google's caller ID and have it look up people that call via google to show the name of them. I already get name display on my cell but sometimes the odd number doesn't work.

I just got the S6 but noticed this doesn't happen. When I go in the phone settings I can't see any option for this. I'm using Truecaller which is okay, but is there any way to use the Google one that's in Lollipop or do I have to use the Samsung phone application? Thanks!

I don't think the S6 lets you even change default applications other than Home or SMS as when I go in those are the only 2 under set defaults. I downloaded the Google Camera even and there's no way to make that the default one, so seems I'm stuck with the Samsung one.

Ahh that's gonna be your problem. I'm not sure but think even if you use a 3rd party dialer, when someone rings you, it's the system app that answers it.
Unless maybe there's an app that intercepts the number while it's ringing and gives the id in a pop up or something

Yeah that's what I've been using different ones that are in the play store. A few were bad would never match a number, TrueCaller is pretty good but a couple times it didn't match anything (my phone showed the name anyway). Just thought I'd check and see. I miss my N5 haha, I've pretty much removed as much Samsung stuff from this as I can.
